As my first ever electronics project, I wanted to make an LED Hula Hoop for my awesome friend Ashlee Male. She is a great hooper! She goes by the name of Inferno Ash and you can find lots of cool stuff on her Facebook page.

The project had many challenges. The entire electronic circuit has to fit in the hoop tube, which has a diameter of only 16mm, so you can imagine. The project took about 7 months, in which I learned so so much. I wanted to share my insights with other people who are enthusiastic about playing around with LEDs, but don’t have experience (yet) with electronics. That’s why I wrote an instructable about the project.
